SPORTS YEARBOOK PICTURES – MRS. J. VER SCHAVE
Fall sports yearbook pictures will be taken on Monday, September  13th right after school.  If you would like to purchase team or individual pictures and have not received a form from Mrs. VerSchave please see her for a form.

TENNIS – COACH DOUG STANGELAND
Our Varsity Tennis Team evened their dual meet record at 4 and 4 as they swept Maria 5-0 yesterday.  The participants were Daria Ekkert, Olivia Palutsis, Emily Burns, Jessica Falco, Emmy Petaityte. Mary Kate Feldner, Margaret Sojka, and Claire Kositsky. Our next match is at Bremen on Monday.

STUDENT COUNCIL – SR. MARY TERESE
Applications for Student Council Representatives are due today to Sr. Mary Terese. Please leave your completed application in the blue basket in the Assistant Principal’s Office area before leaving school today. Our first student council meeting will take place on Thursday, September 16th.

NHS MEETING – Ms. Iffland
There will be the 1st general meeting for NHS TODAY, Thursday Sept. 9th after school in room 313.

READERS’ CAFE – Ms. Reker
The September meeting of Reader’s Café will be held in the library on Tuesday, September 14th from 2:20 – 3:20.  Please join us and find out more about the club.  Ice cream treats will be served.

TENNIS – Coach Stangeland
The Tennis Varsity team beat Seton Academy 5-0 yesterday!

Daria Ekkert and Olivia Palutsis won at Singles.

Jessica Falco and Emmy Petraityte, Mary Kate Feldner & Margaret Sojka, Emily Burns & Claire Kositzky won at doubles.

Our Junior Varsity also won.  Katie Kokaska & Natalie Mateja, and Jennifer Smith & Jeslyn Vayalil played doubles, and Elizabeth Gott played singles.

We play Maria at Marquette Park today.  Come and cheer your teams on if you can!

There will be an all staff yearbook meeting on Wednesday, 9/8/10, after school in room 317. Anyone interested in joining yearbook is welcome.

CLC will meet after school today in Room 312.  All are invited to attend.  Refreshments will be served.

HANDBOOK REGARDING SOCKS – Sister Mary Terese
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: Please review the Handbook regarding uniform socks.  “Socks are to be worn at all times. They are to be white.  Tights may be worn in place of socks.  Socks that do not cover the ankle are not permitted.” Crew socks or knee socks are to be worn; not ankle socks or footies.  Demerits will be issued for violations of the dress code.

PRAYERS – Ms. Frieh
Please keep Ms. Frieh’s mother, who fell and broke her hip over the weekend, in your prayers.

LITURGICAL CHOIR – Sister Jude Marie
Students in Liturgical Choir will practice today from 2:30 – 3:30 PM.  This is our final practice for our Opening Prayer Service on Sept. 10 and our Welcome Mass on Sept. 12.

Walk-A-THON – Sister Jude Marie
We hope you were able to get many pledges for our Walk-a-thon over the weekend.  Continue working on your pledges and turn in your money as soon as possible.

VOLLEYBALL – Coach VanAssen
In the West Aurora Volleyball Tournament, Mt Assisi took 2nd in their pool:
beating Wheaton Academy 25-19, 25-20; beating Streamwood 26-24, 25-19; and splitting with Romeoville 13-25, 25-23, and in the Silver division lost to Sycamore 20-25, 11-25 and lost to Bartlett 16-25, 25-27

Tournament Stats:

Shay Michel had 46 digs and Jen Noonan had 26 kills, 26 digs, and 5 aces while Clare Kelly had 78 assists, and 17 dig.

ARCHER AVENUE CONSTRUCTION – Sister Mary Terese
Those girls traveling to school from the “Midway” area, especially those traveling on Archer Avenue please note:  there is construction on Archer Avenue from 104th Avenue all the way to Route 83 from now until October 10th.  USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE TO GET TO SCHOOL.  Try taking LaGrange Road south to Route 83 and West on Route 83 all the way to school.  Give yourselves sufficient time to get to school on time.  There will be no excuse for being late!

SPECIAL PARKING PASSES – Sr. Maria Goretti
All students that have a parking permit, please come to the general office today for a special parking pass that will be needed to get up the hill starting on Tuesday, September 7th through Friday, September 10th due to the BMW Golf Championship at Cog Hill.  This permit must be displayed on top of your dashboard.
