“Nunsense” Is Habit Forming At MAA

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011 In Club News, Development News, Parent News

“Nunsense is habit forming… there is nothing we can do… when we get a laugh or two,” sing Sr. Robert Anne, Sr. Mary Amnesia, Sr. Hubert, Sr. Leo, and Sr. Mary Regina as they perform the opening song of “Nunsense” which will premiere on Friday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m. at Mount Assisi Academy gymnasium.

“Nunsense”, a musical comedy, portrays a convent of Sisters awaiting the arrival of a health inspector who is most unwelcome because of some contents of their freezer. The bizarre plot lends itself to a most entertaining interweaving of script, dancing, and singing.

Main characters include Amy Sears ( Reverend Mother), Allison Blair (Sr. Leo), Anna Broadhurst (Sr. Robert Anne), Katie Melody (Sr. Hubert), and Brenda Bass (Sr. Amnesia).

Students who are understudies and members of the chorus are Jen Smith (Chicago – Archer Heights), Emily Girdham (Bolingbrook), Kelsey Simon (Alsip), Emily Walsh (Chicago – Midway), Katie Parker (Orland Park), Alicia Blair (Orland Park), and Mary Blair (Orland Park).

Brooke Kosowski, directress of “Nunsense” and music teacher at Mt. Assisi, says that the musical comedy will be performed on May 6 and May 7 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.
